I would love to hear from you.

Beatrice Hollander is a filmmaker and analog photographer whose work is rooted in the magic of everyday life, the physicality of sport, and the small gestures that shape memory. She grew up in Lake Placid, surrounded by mountains, Olympic history, and the quiet discipline of athletes. This environment taught her to pay attention to rhythm, movement, and the emotional weight of place.

Working primarily in 35mm and Super 8, Hollander is drawn to the warmth, imperfection, and tactility of analog formats. Her films often explore community and connection: moms learning to skateboard together, the rituals of morning runs, the in-between spaces of girlhood and adulthood. She is interested in how people move through the world, what they hold close, and the stories that live in overlooked moments.

Before filmmaking, Hollander studied carpentry and design/build at Yestermorrow, where she learned to work slowly and intentionally with her hands. That physical practice influences her artistic process—shaping how she constructs images, layers narrative, and builds films with a sense of structure, texture, and patience.

Her professional experience includes work with NBC Sports and HBS for the FIFA Club World Cup, as well as editorial and programming roles with the NYU Sports Film Festival. Her projects bridge analog film, documentary sensibilities, and small-batch printmaking, creating a body of work grounded in honesty and touch.
